Ascension St. Vincent’s St. Johns County names Donna Wagner chief nursing and operating officer

St. Johns, Fl (Sept. 28, 2026) – Ascension St. Vincent’s St. Johns County has named Donna Wagner, RN, BSN, MS, its new Chief Nursing and Operating Officer. Wagner’s experience spans more than three decades, with an extensive background in nursing leadership, clinical operations, quality, patient experience, and education.

“Donna brings an exceptional combination of nursing and operational leadership and a strong commitment to developing caregivers,” said Sean McAfee, President and CEO of Ascension St. Vincent’s St. Johns County. “Her experience will be an important addition to our leadership team and help us continue delivering quality, compassionate care.”

Most recently, Wagner served as vice president of cardiovascular and critical care services at HCA Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, where she oversaw cardiovascular and critical care services.

She also brings extensive knowledge of St. Johns County and the local healthcare community. Before joining Memorial Hospital, Wagner spent more than a decade at Flagler Health Plus, serving in progressively responsible leadership roles across cardiovascular and critical care, quality, education and patient experience.

“I’m excited to join Ascension St. Vincent’s and return to serving the St. Johns County community,” Wagner said. “I look forward to working alongside our associates to support the care they provide and strengthen the patient experience as St. Johns County grows.”

Wagner’s commitment to the community extends beyond the hospital. She currently serves on the boards of Fostering Connections and CareerSource Northeast Florida and previously chaired the St. Johns County School District Healthcare Academy Advisory Board.

Wagner holds a master’s degree with a concentration in nursing education and a bachelor’s degree in Nursing from St. Joseph’s University.
