North Florida Land Trust (NFLT) scored a big win for conservation on Amelia Island, thanks to a generous donation from the Thornton Family. The family donated approximately 396 acres to the nonprofit land conservation organization to ensure it would remain in its natural state forever. The property is adjacent to Ft. Clinch State Park and runs about two miles between the state park and Egan’s Creek.

Freedom Boat Club of Northeast Florida’s Co-Owner Kevin Seelig has joined the board of directors of Shake-A-Leg Miami, a nonprofit organization based in South Florida that first introduced Seelig to boating. Seelig was nominated to the board by Shake-A-Leg’s Co-Founder and President, Harry Horgan.

North Florida Land Trust (NFLT) is celebrating 25 years and looking forward to the future with an event at its Smith Lake Preserve and the launch of its end-of-year campaign. On Saturday, Nov. 9, NFLT invites the community to the preserve at 5525 Christian Camp Rd. in Keystone Heights to celebrate its 25 years of land conservation. The party will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

North Florida Land Trust (NFLT) has purchased two properties in Clay County within the Ocala to Osceola Wildlife Corridor, or O2O, and in the military use buffer zone for Camp Blanding. The properties total nearly 70 acres and are near NFLT’s Milam Preserve and Mike Roess Gold Head Branch State Park.

North Florida Land Trust (NFLT), in partnership with the U.S. Department of Agriculture - Natural Resources Conservation Service (USDA-NRCS), is urging landowners within the Ocala to Osceola Wildlife Corridor, or O2O, and within the Corridor to Coast, or C2C, area to apply for financial assistance through land management programs. Landowners in these areas can apply now through November 1 for land management opportunities through the NRCS’s Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP).
