Ascension St. Vincent's St. Johns County launches specialized neuro-oncology clinic
St. Johns, Fla. (Sept. 17, 2026) – Ascension St. Vincent's St. Johns County is expanding access to highly specialized neuroscience and cancer care by launching a comprehensive clinic designed to provide coordinated care for patients with brain and spine tumors.
Located at 300 St. Elizabeth Way, Suite 270, St. Johns, FL 32259, the new clinic brings together neurosurgery, oncology, and specialized support services in one location, allowing patients to receive expert, multidisciplinary care through a streamlined experience.
"Patients facing a brain tumor diagnosis deserve expert care that is easy to navigate," said Sean McAfee, President and CEO of Ascension St. Vincent’s St. Johns County. "By bringing our specialists together under one roof, we're making it easier for patients to access advanced treatment while receiving the personalized care Ascension St. Vincent's is known for."
The clinic is led by Aristotelis Filippidis, MD, PhD, Director of Neurosurgical Oncology, whose expertise in complex brain and spine tumors complements an integrated, collaborative team of oncology specialists and support staff dedicated to delivering comprehensive cancer care through personalized treatment plans. This model creates a seamless experience for patients by coordinating appointments, treatment planning, and ongoing support through a single care team.
"Our goal is to remove as many barriers as possible for patients during one of the most challenging times in their lives," said Dr. Filippidis. "Through the opening of this new clinic, we can provide individualized treatment plans and coordinated care that keeps the patient at the center of every decision and closer to home."
The opening of the clinic reflects Ascension St. Vincent's continued investment in expanding access to specialty care across Northeast Florida, ensuring patients can receive advanced treatment close to home while benefiting from a coordinated team approach. Ascension St. Vincent’s St. Johns County is currently building a new Women’s Services Tower and Family Birth Place, slated to open in Summer 2027.
