North Florida Land Trust Named One of the Best Places to Work
Jacksonville, Fla., Sept. 5, 2024 – The Jacksonville Business Journal has named North Florida Land Trust one of the Best Places to Work on the First Coast. The nonprofit land conservation organization was chosen for inclusion in the 2024 Best Places to Work Extra Small Company category, which honors companies with 25 employees or less. NFLT was just one of 15 extra small companies chosen for this designation.
“We have one of the best places to work because we have the best staff to work with,” said Allison DeFoor, president and CEO of NFLT. “I am always in awe of their professionalism and their dedication to conservation. North Florida Land Trust is a leading conservation organization in Florida, and it is all because of our staff’s efforts. This is a true honor.”
The Best Places to Work award is based on an anonymous survey of employees that included both closed-ended and open-ended questions. Although the survey was not mandatory, all 17 of NFLT’s staff members participated. The survey measured various factors to determine employee engagement and satisfaction. It was found that NFLT employees are highly engaged, go above and beyond for the mission, and intend to remain with the organization into the future.
The Jacksonville Business Journal partnered with Quantum Workplace, which tabulated the survey results to determine which companies made the Best Places to Work List. NFLT will be honored at the Best Places to Work awards ceremony in early November.
