Join us for a joint Tourism and Hospitality and Historic St. Augustine Area Council meeting. Tourism and hospitality are thriving industry here in St. Augustine encompassing many sectors, including hotels,restaurants, travel, events, and entertainment. Join us as local experts will participate in a panel discussion about workforce solutions in the Tourism and Hospitality Industry.

Jennifer Bowmaster
Dean of Student Services
First Coast Technical College 

Jennifer Bowmaster has over 15 years of experience in K-12 education. Her experience varies from a classroom teacher to administration. She recently joined First Coast Technical College as the Dean of Student Services, and she is also pursuing her Doctorate of Education with an emphasis on Trauma Based Practices. In her spare time she competes in Ironmans and enjoys the sport of triathlon.


Ashley Wimpleberg
Work-Based Learning Coordinator
St. Johns County School District

Ashley Wimpelberg is the Work-Based Learning Coordinator for the St. Johns County School District's Career and Technical Education programs. She connects students with job shadowing, internships, and other work-based learning opportunities by collaborating with local businesses to enhance students' real-world skills. Under her leadership, the district's summer internship program has flourished, helping students gain valuable industry experience and preparing them for future careers.


Beth Abstein

Placement Specialist, First Coast Technical College

Beth is a versatile professional with more than 20 years of experience helping people navigate their educational and career paths. From her early work in special needs education to her time in corporate HR and nonprofit settings, she’s learned firsthand that every individual’s journey is unique—one that often calls for the right mix of guidance, resources, and encouragement.

As a Placement & Admission Specialist at First Coast Technical College, Beth works closely with adult learners and recent graduates, helping them turn their training into meaningful employment. She’s known for her supportive approach, whether she’s reviewing resumes, polishing interview skills, or connecting students with local employers who value their potential.

Beyond the classroom and office, Beth proudly serves on the First Coast Technical College Patriot Council, where she focuses on supporting veterans. She organizes events and mentorship programs. Her commitment to building welcoming spaces is best seen in the Veterans Lounge she helped create—a comfortable spot where those who served can relax & study in a stress-free environment.

At the heart of it all, Beth believes in the power of personal connections. Whether she’s coaching a student through a tough career decision, negotiating opportunities on behalf of a graduate, or forging new community partnerships, she’s driven by the idea that everyone deserves a chance to succeed—and that a little guidance and encouragement can make all the difference.
