At the Economic Development Council breakfast on Friday, Sept. 20, hear from St. Johns County Public Schools Superintendent Tim Forson about ways to maintain the county's ranking as the No. 1 school system in Florida. Learn more about the continuation of the sales tax and development of additional opportunities to increase teacher pay and enhance infrastructure.

Featured speaker: Tim Forson, Superintendent of St. Johns County School District

Tim Forson serves as the Superintendent of Schools for the St. Johns County School District. Prior to being named Superintendent, Mr. Forson held various leadership roles throughout his career of 36 years including Deputy Superintendent for Operations.

Under Mr. Forson’s leadership the district has added nine schools, expanded 10 others over the last 10 years and is presently building two new K-8 schools.

Mr. Forson was the principal at Bartram Trail High School during a time of unprecedented growth. BTHS was an “A” school during his tenure where he fostered the development of both accelerated academic program offerings and career academies.

He is dedicated to the community having served in various roles over the years including president of the PACT Prevention Coalition of St. Johns County, president of St. Augustine Little League, and as a long standing member of Kiwanis of Historic St. Augustine. Mr. Forson has also been a teacher in his church’s children formation program and provided training to both businesses and athletic organizations about the value of CHARACTER COUNTS! and Pursuing Victory With Honor.

Mr. Forson received his bachelor’s degree from University of Central Florida and his master’s degree from Nova Southeastern University. Mr. Forson has been a lifelong resident of St. Johns County where he and his wife, Janice, are well-respected leaders in education. The Forsons have been married for 39 years and have four children.
