People can enjoy a weekend of special deals at the Betty Griffin Center Thrift Shoppes on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 16 and 17 in celebration of National Non-profit Thrift Store Day…and over two days, as well.
The nonprofit hosts Popsicles, Purpose and Peace from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16 at its Anastasia Thrift Shoppe, located at 1961 A1A South, where customers can enjoy special deals, fun activities and treats for the kids.
On Sunday, Betty Griffin Center will have a special Sunday opening at its Julington Square Thrift Shoppe, located at 445 State Road 13 in Fruit Cove, hosting Boogie for a Better Tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, August 17 — where customers can enjoy special deals with fun activities and sweet treats for children.
Founded in 1990 by concerned citizens, Betty Griffin Center serves more than 1,000 victims of domestic and sexual abuse annually, operates a 24-hour help line, emergency shelter, provides professional counseling for victims of domestic and sexual abuse, provides age-appropriate violence prevention training – and operates two thrift stores at Julington Square and Anastasia Square to assist in funding the agency’s ongoing operations.
