The St. Augustine Lighthouse & Maritime Museum is celebrating 150 Years of shining the light over St. Augustine. Jason Titcomb, Director of Curatorial Affairs, and Jay Smith, Grants and Development Manager, of the St. Augustine Lighthouse & Maritime Museum will share exciting initiatives and the history of the Lighthouse's 150th year of operation. Join us to hear about their 150th celebration plans, interesting local and military history, and learn about their newest exhibit: “Reflections: A Celebration of 150 Years of Service" at a joint meeting of the Tourism & Hospitality and Historic St. Augustine Area Councils.

Jason Titcomb is the Director of Curatorial Affairs at the St. Augustine Lighthouse and Maritime Museum, where he oversees museum research, collections, and interpretation. With extensive experience in archaeology, conservation, environmental education and exhibit curation, he has dedicated his career to preserving and interpreting the past. His worked has been marked by collaborative research and public programs that have enhanced conservation practices and broadened educational outreach.


Jay Smith is the Development and Grants Manager at the St. Augustine Lighthouse & Maritime Museum. He earned a Master’s Degree in American History from the University of North Florida where he taught first as a teaching assistant and then as an adjunct professor. He leads programs and tours at Memorial Presbyterian Church here in St. Augustine as well as teaching courses through Flagler College’s Lifelong Learning Institute. He is also a member of several local organizations including the St. Augustine Sunrise Rotary Club, Friends of the Huguenot Cemetery, St. Augustine Historical Society and St. Augustine Archaeological Association.


The Tourism & Hospitality Council of the St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce is committed to strengthening the local tourism and hospitality sector by enhancing the ability of businesses to provide exceptional service to visitors. The council serves as a resource for industry-specific training, professional development and educational opportunities, helping members stay informed on the latest trends and best practices through collaboration and shared expertise.

The Historic St. Augustine Area Council of the St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce serves as the unified voice for businesses in Historic Downtown, advocating for the unique needs of the area's business community. The council is designed to foster collaboration among businesses, support economic growth, promote the preservation of St. Augustine's rich heritage and provide valuable resources and networking opportunities to enhance business success in this iconic destination.
